Thriving Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Practice Selects Best Funds 401(k) Plan
Wooster Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center is a highly respected medical practice providing a range of sophisticated surgical procedures that includes reconstruction of adult spines, joints, and knee ligaments, along with numerous other procedures for a client base in Wayne and Holmes Counties.
“We strive to provide a high level of personal and professional care to our patients at our offices in Wooster and Millersburg,” observed Dr. James W. Gesler. “While sports medicine is a big part of what we do, we also perform a lot of adult reconstructive surgery, including arthroscopic surgery on shoulders and knees.” The College of Wooster and several area high schools also rely on the Center to care for injured athletes.
Not long ago, Dr. Gesler and his associates at the practice decided to move the assets in the employee 401(k) plan to Midwest Investment Management’s Best Funds Investment Advisory Service.
“The previous investment manager changed its investment philosophy, and as we watched our account we realized our interests weren’t being met anymore,” said Dr. Gesler.
Assisting employees
Today, things are much different, said Dr. Gesler. “Our people are very happy overall, and they’re comfortable with the investment philosophy of Midwest Investment Management,” he added. “They also appreciate the opportunity to make their own mutual fund choices for their 401(k) plan.”
Facilitating the employees’ fund-selection process at Wooster Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is the assistance provided by Midwest Investment Management Partner Charles E. Nye.
“Chuck Nye has educated the people in our offices and answered their questions,” Dr. Gesler noted. “He meets with our employees regularly, and helps educate them about investing for retirement.”
Education process
Employee education is a major component of our overall service to 401(k) plans,” said Midwest Investment Management Partner Elmer L. (Al) Meszaros. “We help employees select funds suitable to their age, retirement goals, and tolerance for risk.”
“The funds we offer are carefully analyzed for high quality, low expenses, and availability without sales fees,” Meszaros noted.
Wooster Orthopedic and Sports Medicine is just one example of professional firms and companies across northern Ohio that now utilize the successful Best Funds 401(k) Investment Advisory Service for management of their employees’ 401(k) plan assets.
